Quest..

We made it back down to Bishop, by the southern route no less. The quest to regain our fitness continues. Unfortunately the Buttermilks have some snow on the blocs and frozen seepage on the faces, that along with bitter cold temps have forced us onto the tablelands. The last few days have been spent climbing as many v5-v8's as possible followed by pullups, core workouts and resistance and recovery on the e-stims in the evenings. Psyche is very high, so high in fact I hauled my Ventana hardtail I used to race on down with me for some singletrac fun on rest days. The weekend calls for snow and rain so it looks like some monster sessions on the Beastmaker and e-stim will have to do until the cold dry temps return!!! fuking yes!!

Back to the Blocs!!

We have decided to cut our stay in the Bay a little short, well actually more than a little. We ended up taking care of pretty much everything on our "to do" list in a day barring a few minor things. Tomorrow we are planning on getting up early taking care of business and then hauling ass back to the east side. Only this time we are gonna check current weather situations in the mountains and try to avoid another 12hr jaunt. If it still looks grim in the Tahoe area, we will take the southern route. A bit longer in the mileage department but much faster on the speedometer and much, much easier on the mind and body!!! We have Blocs to climb!!!!!! Fucking Yes!!!!

Epic........

Dave and I left Bishop yesterday around 2 o'clock heading North planning on beating the monster heading for the Sierras. The plan didnt quite unfold like we had hoped. There were flurries in Gardnerville, 20 miles south of Carson City we had to stop and put the chains on. The pass thru Truckee was absolutely treacherous, and it was still snowing in fucking Auburn. 6 plus hours of chain controls and a trip that usually takes 6+ plus hours turned into a 12.5 hour epic. Nonetheless we made it back to the Bay, at 2:30 am. Fuck.

Over the past several weeks Chelsea have looked unstoppable. Unfortunately, yesterday they looked like utter shite. Hopefully just a small slip in their season. We shall see.

Dave and I met a super nice family deep in the canyons. They've been nice enough to take us in and let us share their camp. We've been spending our days hunting for ground squirrels and any sparetime up in the Buttermilks trying to get fit.

The Shoes (that halted the departure)

The lengths I had to go to in order to snap this photo of the illusive shoes would of made even the best papparazzi proud. Before dinner I decided the time was now or never, I slipped four of my coveted, and I mean coveted 750mg Vicodin in Daveyboys mashed potatoes (that I made perfectly by the way. He did nothing, not even the fucking dishes) and I waited. Within an hour he was face down in his wonderful sweet potato pie desert ( that I again made ). I was finally able to get a photo of perhaps the ugliest fucking pair of shoes on earth. Fucking Yes!!!

So I picked up Dave from the airport. Yea I fucking can't believe it either. The kid arrived in a pair of the most god awful shoes ive ever seen. Instead of just hi tailing it to the East Side, we have spent the better part of the last day driving round the East Bay shoe shoppin. As soon he he finds a suitable pair we will be off.......Bishop calls.
